Guys,

Noticed this just this morning when I flicked it in to tiptronic and dropped down a gear to overtake.....

Car in PARK. All OK.
Put car in Reverse, the R AND and the "1" lights light up on the dash.
Put car in Drive. D light does not illuminate, the "1" light does.

AND Drive around. The light moves up/down with every gear change. Like the car is telling me what gear its in at all times?

Also, from D, to N, to Reverse the car jolts heavily (yes, I have my foot on the brake!) however its very harsh!

I'm _assuming_ this is some kind of "I have a problem take me to the dealer kind of indicator"

Anyone had this before?

For the record: its an 07 S3, with 54kms. Had the car 1.5years, done 14,000kms myself. I'm going to take it back to the dealer ASAP of course...however some pre-insight would be nice :|

Sidenote: plugged in the OBD2 reader, no fault codes displayed.

Take it to the dealer, for sure.

Update: Decided to start the car again (now its completely cold 9 hours later)

All perfect! No shuddering, correct D engagement, all the lights light up!

Checked the ATF fluid - looks almost clear, and at a good level!

*scratches head*

could the tranny have being hot

or the selector wet...been wet there lately....
