Hi all..
I recently purchased a 2003 TL Magna Dedicated LPG, it has 180,000kms and recently been serviced. It seems to run well.. but
The Trip Computer will say 11l/100kms and have used 40litres .. then when i fill up with LPG i will put in about 52litres... so in actual fact it is using about 14l/100kms .. I have repeated this about 4 or 5 times so its always at least 25% off. Does anybody know if this is normal for the Dedicated LPG magnas? or whether I should be taking it to an LPG mechanic for a tune.
It seems to run fine and have plenty of power, so I am assuming its just the trip computer is way off on these LPG magnas.. feedback appreciated from other dedicated LPG magna owners
Is it a wagon or sedan? What was entered as the program parameter S or W?

yeah, when you disconnect your battery for a little while then reconnect it your trip computer will show a flashing 'S' when the ignition is turned on. hold down mode to set it to Sedan (if it was a wagon you would press mode to change it to 'W' and then hold mode to set it as such). then it will show 3.5 or 3.0 to set your engine size, hold mode again to set the correct option (not sure if this is still included on the TL's as they were all 3.5's)

right ok... So the only way to check this is to disconnect the battery i guess?... That stuffs up the transmission shifting for awhile doesnt it though

If you let the car sit and idle for 10 - 15 minutes after disconnecting the battery it should be fine as it needs to re-learn how to idle, but yea it would have to learn your driving style again but this isn't a bad thing if you've recently bought the car, means itll then be more suited to how you like it...

My dad had an 03TL Dedicated gas magna. It was doing the same. My dad thought it was normal as it was on gas. so he kept doing the normal thing. fill up and drive, lol. He never had any problems with it in the 2yrs he had it.

That sounds typical of a Gas car. Nothing wrong there mate.
As for the Sedan or Wagon setting, all that does is tell the car how many L of fuel the tank holds as they differ by 2 L depending so doubt that will make any difference to your reading.
Would not worry about it mate.
