Hey guys yet another problem. When i do 2500 revs or less the car starts to slow down then violently shudders and accelerates again. without my foot moving on the pedal. It should be staying consistant.
This is in a manual 3.0L TE by the way. at really low speed the car almost stalls then gets a massive boost and launches itself.
This has only started since swapping back to the original 3.0L fuel injectors and a flowed throttle body but more specifically i didnt notice the problem when i installed the TB only after the injectors went back in. Unless the 3.5 litre injectors where masking the problem (as they wasted fuel at a rate of 25L/100Kms)
though i had some trouble getting the air fuel mix right on the TB as i had to transplant the screw from my original one and guess at it myself.
Any thoughts? ever heard of it happenign before? this is starting to drive me up a wall, please help me before it drives me into a wall!!! lol

Vacuum leak perhaps causing unstable idle, then ECU steps up the idle bring up the massive RPM increase? Check main culprit, the hose from rocker cover to rocker cover (left side of engine, with the valve on it) - check for perishing, holes or brittleness.

It might be your throttle position sensor. When these go bad they can sent erratic readings to the ECU and it causes similar things to what you've described. I'd just pull one of a car at the wreckers and try it to see if it makes a difference.

mine is doing somthing very similar too, but mostly noticable when the car is cold. i dont think it is the TB sensor as when i have a hooked up my laptop to the Prosequential, it shows the Throttle position fine, i have a feeling its a vac leak. The car had this problem before, when i put the SFII manifold on it was much better, but it has seamed to come back now.
oh and Zahrim, my car is running the 3.0L injector harness too, as its running a 3.0L ECU

well, i came across a loose Vac line that runs into the charchol canister, i fixed it, seams to have dissapared during normal driving, but im yet to drive the car from a cold morning start. as that was at its worst time.

OK well i have a spare TPS on my old throttle body. but first i will definately check that charcoal canister. I'd hazard a guess that it's the large black canister mounted directly onto the firewal somehwere behind the air intake?
Will check both of trhese out after work tomrrow.

That's the one. Wouldn't hurt buying $10+ of vac hose and replacing it all at once. that way you know 100% all your vac hoses are fine.

Best option would be pull the hose of at one end and cut a small piece off about 5-10mm long. That way when you go to the shop you have the right size hose to compare too.:)

well, the problem is still there, even after checking the Vac line, the main itime is happens is when the car is started on a cold morning and under load, with a lot of throttle. i can put my foot on the clutch and rev it to over 2000rpm then release clutch slowly and take off that way,
the problem is very minimal after the car has warmed up.
Zahrim let me know how you go with this, does your car seem similar to this?

My problem is mostly when it slows down and i try to accelerate agan. Like using gears to slow the car then taking of straight from it will cause a surge. Not sure why yet but still gotta swap the stuff over when i have time. Will keep you updated though.
