Hey guys,
a mate of mine has a 2.6 that has an aircon issue.
Now it would appear that a hose has blown as there seems to be a 'gas burn' on the underside of the bonnet.
Is there a common culprit with aircon hoses or is it a bit more of a search to find the problem
and
are these hoses easy to replace/source?
Thanks in advance for the help - i have next to no knowledge regarding aircon...

either a wrecker or an air con fitting place can
supply
the whole system has to be re gassed
have to find out what caused the hose to leak
so best left to an good air con fitter

Id grab another one from the wreckers. You'll need to spanners though when undoing the fittings as they are aluminium and if you just use one you'll bent the pipe. Needs to be regassed. You cant just install the pipe yourself as they use special o rings and a special goo on them aswell, regas is about $80ish - also slap in a new receiver dryer = ~$10 while your at it, it's like an air con filter basically.

There is a combination of rubber and alloy pipes, would most likely be the high pressure side if it has actually blown a hose
Blowing hoses has not been a common thing on Magna's but they are nwo getting on a bit I guess
The main thing to watch is moisture, once you crack that pipe off make sure it is sealed at both ends, when you install make sure you use new "O" rings and you need to use the proper ones for aircon systems, best to get the new hose fitted by who ever is doing the gassing
Are you sure that the hose is actually blown, best get the system tested by a aircon person and also be aware some of the cheaper gasses, especially the older gasses are extremely flammable so be careful there
