Just went to Repco and SuperCheap Auto in Balcatta. They are usually not bad. Got quoted $150 for a K+N oval Panel Filter from Repco and $138 from Supercheap Auto. This is for a TR GLX. Seems quite high to me, I was hoping for around the $120 mark. Is it really worth say $120 ?? Are there any significant benefits? I'm looking into spending another $2k on my car with wheels and lowering + shockies etc but heck i dunno now.

I thought it was only $80!!??!
Someone posted a Excel document on here somewhere with prices from RPW, might pay to look at that if you can find it...

Just a thought - Have a look at AutoSpeed's (http://www.autospeed.com/) shop. I just bought a K&N panel from there for my TJ for $117. I also bought a Whiteline front strut brace and since the total of the two items was over $200 they threw in freight for free. Bonus.
Edit: For the moderators - I'm not sure what you consider advertising, but there's no malicious intent in this post.. just a referral

Thats sounds pretty good. I wonder what model number filter I need as well.... The guy at Supercheap scrolled through to what it is based on my car but I never wrote it down

You can try http://www.knfilterchargers.com/search/appsearch.aspx but it seems to be US cars only.. if you can't find a Diamante in right year you might try another mitsu with the same engine.. or call Supercheap back and ask them for the part number :D

Yes you dont have to replace it but just service it, I think Mitsubishi throw away ones are like $70 a pop anyway and they are not as efficient.

33-2151 is the part No. for 3rd Gen. Magna. Don't know if TR is the same or not.
Cost $110 at Bursons but the guy looked after me.

See thats what I cant believe. You guys are paying like $110 - $120 for them on 3rd gens how the hell can they validate charging $138 and $150 respectively for one for a 2nd gen?? Is there something more to it?? Maybe they come with a full cleaning kit or something?? Will take 3 days for them to get em through so If I decide to get a K+N panel I will order it on Monday but i dun wanna get ripped. Any recommendations in Perth guys?

K&N panel model no. 33-2151 is correct, approx. $125.00
K&N oval type ram pod model no. is KNRF/1055 and adaptor model no. is 5RMB114 and cost is $195.00 all up (this price is from Rocket Industries in NSW via 'phone and doesn't include cleaning and oiling kit) This model is supposed to suit Mitsubishi MAS sensors. Good luck!!

I can definitly vouch that the kit qouted by Rocket Industries is a universal design and not compatible with the MAF sensor.
I took months to track down this model no. down, and was assured that this was compatible with Mitsu MAF sensor. If it isn't, what is the model no. of the one that is, as I haven't purchased one yet but still want to when finances permit!!
