i have just recently bought "my" first car. a blue 2005 tw series2 sedan.
this car is completly stock and the sound system is terrible.

so i have decided my first modification would be a new audio setup including a new headunit, sub and amp, rear 6x9s, front 6-6.5s

i was planing on having the sub and 6x9s connected to the amp. and having high quality speakers in the front.

in not looking for volume more sound quality. i have looked into it and come to the ussumption that clarion is the best brand to go with.

help me find the setup i require. tell me if there is a better brand to get for a similar price

im looking to spend around 500-600 on the speakers, sub and amp. and just find a head to suit not sure on budget

Hi Shatter.

Congrats on YOUR first car. :)

For audio quality, consensus is that the front speakers are far more critical than the rears. Would you go to a concert and turn your back on the performers to listen to them? :)

Clarion is an OK brand, but not renowned for great "quality", although at a consumer level I'm sure they're fine. Heck, I bought Kenwood and am happy with it! :)

Personally for me - my 2003 TJ SII stock speakers are doing OK, I just got a head unit that does what I want and added a sub with amp. My fronts have factory tweeters, so it's not too bad.

I bought 2nd hand Rockford Fosgate sub (12" sealed) & 2 channel amp (approx 1x250W RMS) for about $300. Add another $100 for wiring = $400, and IMO that is cheap for OK quality items.
So I think your budget of $600 might not cover all the speakers + amplifier you want. eg: "High quality" front speakers depends on who's defining it, but $600 won't get close to some peoples definition. About $300 gets mine.

Hope this helps to get you started a little. There's lots of info around here, so have a search of old posts too. I'm sure there's already 5 saying to do things in a certain order :)

Cheers!
Oggy.
