Got a wagon with ABS, put new front tyres on 2,000 km ago with a wheel alignment, but I'm getting a shimmy in the front left that comes and goes at 110 KPH, and shows up at odd times under brakes at lower speeds.
I suspect worn wheel bearings, but I'm open to other suggestions.
Anyone know the actual size of the front wheel bearings on a 3.0L V6 with ABS? Rockauto lists a number of different sizes, which is the right one?

Interested to know too. Might be having the same issue on my TS.

Nah, still not sorted. The tie rod end nuts seem to work loose on these, tightened them and it improved it a bit. I have some new tie rod ends to go on at some stage, but the main slop seems to be in the wheel bearings. I have already replaced the tie rods themselves, they had worn ball joints under the steering rack boots. When I got the car the drive shaft nuts were way over tightened, I backed them off and put them at the right torque, but being overtightened has probably distorted the wheel bearing outer race and worn the bearings out. Or it might just be normal wear and tear at 240,000 Km. Won't really know until I pull it apart. In the meantime the car is used only around town, and I'm getting some wheel slop under brakes from 60 KPH, so its slowly getting worse. Just makes it easier to find the problem when I get around to it, so I'm not worried. Rockauto.com sells the bearings for about $50 each, but needs a workshop with a press to do the bearings. Easy job, once I get around to it. lol
