Thought I had a nasty issue with one of my cars.
You would start her up when cold, and it would make all sorts of noise behind the dash near the centre console (actually coming from engine bay)
It's all sort of pumping,squirting linkage noises etc etc.
Then after moving off a couple of hundred metres both the ABS and traction control lights would illuminate on dash,and stay on until ignition switched off a and the whole cycle would repeat.
Solution? go to a high pressure car wash, select the tyre cleaner option, spray the inside of all four wheels.
There is a toothed magnetic pickup on the end of each driveshaft.
One of mine was fouled up with crap and was upsetting the ABS system.
A good squirt, a rinse and all fixed.
Cost? About 4 bucks worth of pressure hose time.
BTW...absolutely zero OBD codes reported.
How on earth did you figure that out. Trial and error or sheer luck or just 'brilliance'?

Is this the same on 3rd gens do you know? I've come accross a very similar situation which I might just be able to solve following your advice!
