hey all, i've been thinking about recolouring my rooflining black but i have hit upon a possible hurdle. acording to the cumulative wisdom of this forum, would it be easier to recolour the carpet in situ*, or remove the lining, dye it, then stick it back in**?
car is a '02 TJII AWD.

Pictures when it's finished. but don't hold your breath, probably won't attempt till near X-mass.

*lave it on the roof, cover the seats, dash etc and hope it takes on the dye.
** is this even possible?

Thanks all. :woot:

i would remove it from the car, leaving it intact then dye it

Cant remove the material from the roof mould without wrecking the foam backing, if you are adament that you dont want to retrim the material.. just take out the whole moulded roof section and spray it outside the car. Personally I would put new material in, both because itll looks better, and it means fresh glue holding it up, prolonging sagging
