ok. i know alot of you must be thinking i'm an idiot right now. but i'm thinking... as the awd is heavy we need as much torque as we can get, and our camshafts are designed to deliver power higher up where a fwd can use it. pajeros however are cammed for torque lower down... so why can't we use a set of pajero camshafts?

im assuming theres a reason we cant as if not someone would have by now. but what is the reason?

i think the 3.0L ones are SOHC and the 3.5 are DOHC from memory dad had a 3.0L and my uncle had a 3.5

Ive wondered if its possible to fit a diesel from a pajero into a magna? I think they made diesel pajeros... No reason for a diesel magna, just wondering if it might fit or not even close?

To answer your question, you can, but enjoy no power at all over 3500RPM. They are designed for low down torque and thats it.

if you want to move your powerband around, get a set of adjustable cam gears.

Yeah I know the majority of them are dohc, but I'm fairly sure that some of the 3.5 are sohc. But if it's going to run out of puff I'll just scrap that idea then.

Turbo diesel would be interesting lol
