If u installed it yourself then u have NO CHANCE. Actually either way i think u have NO CHANCE.
Cos if they installed it and u said it was faulty then they give u another of the same item straight away. If u installed it and u said it was faulty then they send your amp away for you to be looked at.
So there is not much point saying its faulty.

There is no harm in going and pleading your case i suppse, but i think u just have to learn from your mistake

u could always try lying on the ground in the fetal position crying... i'm sure if u make a big enuf scene they'll do something... prob call security :D

honestly tho i don't think u have much chance, maybe try saying it was an unwanted gift???

next time 2 months before your birthday tell everyone what you wana buy and give em exact model number and price of the things, may be few visits to the audio shop and pointing out the thingo.

So your potential gift giver will have any idea what exactly you are looking for and with not buy any thing other thing for you.

2ndly if its an expensive item you can tell them that you already have some savigns and just need the top up :)

and as for lesson stay clear from low end stuff like boss , avalanche etc.

its not the fact that its boss that pisses me off its just that it has no power i was gonna buy the 1000w(250wrms) watt boss amp factory second for the same price as the 400w one new and that tornado aka avalance 12" sub that im selling with the amp actually broke would you belive i thought it might be worth the $10 buks postage to send it away and have it fixed for free so its sort of like a reconditioned sub never used i am cheap and broke as always could be why i by **** like boss and all that crap i got my sony xplode 800w(250wrms) sub for 79 buks discontinued line and that sounds good on the 400w amp but it would sound alot more awsome with 1000w

Take it back and just tell them your car was writted off and you have no need for it. Don't tell em it faulty as they will either test it or give you a replacement.

If they want your business they will be helpful. Car Audio stores are ******** to deal with, I hate them with passion.

I think firstly you should start using fullstops.

Secondly, a shop is not obliged to give refund/exchange purely due to you changing your mind. Any time they choose to is only as goodwill. The only time when they are obliged to refund/exchange is if the product is faulty or does not meet its representation. If you lie and say its faulty they will send it to the manufacturer for diagnosis/repair, meanwhile you will have no amp. If you say it has been misrepresented (power does not meet quoted ratings) then you would have to show how you determined this.

im afraid u wont b getting anything brand new for under $200 with those power ratings. try get something 2nd hand i spose. or keep the money aside and SAVE. saving is a magical thing and it is well worth it once u have the things u want. i was going to buy one of those boss amps awhile ago, til i learned how crappy they were. i did my research before i bought it, which always helps hey.

then i saw a SANSUI amp for $270. 70wrms x 4 channels. it may not b a well known brand but apparently it is of a decent quality, much better than that of boss or avalance anyway. that was at brisbane car sound (or strathfield down south). but yeah, keep ur money in ur pocket and save and get something decent. :D
