hey guys,
i'm after some close up pics of some front strut braces, ie. mounting points, joins, corners, adjustment points. and also any info people have on what they are made of and their basic construction.
The thing is... no1 makes a strut brace for the 1st gen... AND I WANT 1!!! so the plan is to make my old man useful, he's a sheet metal worker and i know a lot of the boiler makers he works with, so i'm researching having my own brace made to suit it.
Thanks guys
Tim

Whiteline can make custom braces if you are in NSW and can take your car to them for measurements.

i don't have any photos of close ups - hold on - i do have this one:
http://www.aussiemagna.com/amc_gallery/albums/Western%20Australia/Rockingham%20June-29-2003/wa079.jpg
but that is before most of my mods - but you can still see the strut bar.
yeah - the ends are about 3mm mild steel and the bar across the middle is just an ali rod i think - fairly lightweight and reasonably strong.

Thanks malc... thats exactly what i was after..... now the problems begin... see how the 3rd gens have 3 mounting bolts around the top of the tower where it bolts on??? 1st gens don't, they just have the 1 centre bolt on top of the shock... so i don't know how i'd connect the brace... i'll have more ideas after i pull it all apart to change springs. but if ne1 has suggestions....

Get the drill out and drill more holes in it - think of the weight reduction factor as well ;)
Surely there must be more then one bolt holding in your shocks / springs??

the one on the right is power wires for amps and there is a fuse there as well
the other circle i would say they are something mitsubishi invented. :)

yeah - as mercury said - the blue wires on teh right - that is the 4 gauge wire where i shoved it prior to setting it up properly - once i fixed it up - it ran under the battery box into the battery.
I had to put it there to begin with because i had issues with it blowing stuff up - LONG story!!
and the other stuff on teh engine - that's just generix engine stuff that was always there - assuming it has probably something to do with injectors and the fuel lines and stuff
I really didn't pay much attention to it
