Hey Guys n Gals, i have just ordered King Lows for my car and need a detailed "how to" on installing them, plus tools i will need etc. Any information would be great. Plus if theres anyone in SA who would like to help with the install, im sure i could find a carton of beer or whatever for you.
Cheers Jono

Spring Compressors, Air compressor with air ratchet would make compressing springs easier, Torque wrench, Sockets, Spanners, A big Vice would be good, and a lot of patience.
good luck.
Make sure the springs are seated into the strut properly.

but normally you will see where the facotry springs have indented into the mounts and you should be able to line them up with out the dowel.
if you can't get your hands on a rattle gun and air compressor - you are looking at about 4 hours worth of work - with air tools - half that!! the most time consuming is compressing the factory springs to pull the coilover apart!! not fun with a 1/2 drive ratchet - i have done 3 sets of springs with a ratchet before i went and got me an air compressor and rattle gun!! oh yeah - i do springs in WA for ppl ;)

Thanks for all the tips, How dangerous are compressing the springs exactly???? As i have never done any spring work before, i will not be using a rattle gun though as i don't have one but have been advised not too as well. Though i shall have a mate who has done a Tr before helping (i hope)

My advice for you, is if your tackling this and have never done this before, buy a tech manual. I'm not saying that you will get incorrect advice from here, but a tech manual is handy and comprehensive. Especially if your thinking about doing other things to your car. Its not cheap but it could save you a lot of pain. :)

I agree with Mark H - i had one and it is always handy to have step by step instructions.
If you are getting a set of spring compressors - i recommend the ones with 2 teeth at each end - you will know what i mean when you see them - some only have one hook tooth - but the safer ones have 2 hook teeth.
As long as you compress them properly you will be fine.

I recomend using compressors with 2 hooks on each end. u have just done mine and i used one hook on each end and the bloody compressor slipped off the spring when it was compressed and the spring missed my head by about 5cm and it hit the roof. if you dont know what your doing please get someone how dose. coz i almost lost my head.
