Hey all,
Getting a new aftermarket ECU within the coming weeks for future Mods.
Any reccommendations?????????
Been looking at Greddy E-Manage, Haltech, Microtech, Apexi.
Also does anyone know if the Apexi SAFC II would be suitable for the Magna as a piggyback fuel managment etc (Probably a stupid question). :doubt:

It could be suitable but not ideal. It's a cheap way of doing things. All it does is affect the fueling and you won't gain as much as a chip tuned to the car. Something like a Unichip or GReddy unit control fuel management but also can advance the timing.
Hey Ralliart Boy, any chance you can post your before and after chart? How did you notice the car improver in terms of drivability?

Thanks,
That's what i thought but I wasn't too sure. (SAFC)
This may be a dumb question  but if you buy a Greddy E-manage do you have to get a specific model or wiring for specific cars. IE: are they completely universal.
Anyway I wouldn't mind knowing what power advantages they have. So if anyone has any dyno charts etc.

Cheers mitsiman, i think that will help almost everyone!!
Hmm, make this a sticky maybe??? I'm sure people are going to ask this damn question pretty often.

Thanks,
Just the info I required :D
I think greddy e-manage is the way to go with the additional harnesses and software.

Firstly you have teh Apexi units and the very basic greddy e-manage (Ie the box and standard wiring harness only) which allows you to alter the fuel only at five preset rpm points. Very basic and very large adjustments with not a lot of accuracy. Used more for standard vehicles for minor adjustments only.
Hey, what happens between these points? Does it just average it?

Yes that is why they are inaccurate as you end up having to run it rich across the board to iron out the specific lean spots.
Charming. Nothing like overkill solutions

the greddy also seems quite reliable, i havent had mine go out of tune on my magna. but id keep clear of the microwreck  even on basic early model car without aircon etc it lacks map points and is not reliable.

Hey, someone said to me that Unichip can lose it's tune if the battery's removed or on freak occasions. That sounds pretty crook and I don't know why it would do that anyway. Surely the flashed memory would retain it regardless of whether it's got power or not. Any thoughts?
