Anyone know what it is for and should i remove it?
Theres a fuse holder in one and they're colourful cables.

Also does anyone know the stock paint code for the centre console or what the actual colour is called?

thanks

Seriously? That's not much information for someone to give you advice about cables.
Someone may have installed an alarm, stereo, or almost anything and done some custom wiring.
If it's got a fuse, then I'd be surprised if it was unused - unless it was from an old stereo, etc.

How about a photo of the offending wiring ????

Oh yeah, you'll also need to state what Make, model and year of vehicle you're talking about - wiring changed between years and even different models.

Cheers.

The cables join into the stock loom

Also i pushed those 3 white plugs at the back back, is that fine?

As for the colour, i'm going to be butchering my centre console face (where teh climate control is) and just want to know if that paint has some colour code.

One more thing, how do i take off the gear knob?

It looks like a power plug from a computer?

My TJ S2 AWD has the same white plugs at the backand on the little cross beam in the foreground, but not that bundle of wire and smaller plug.

Is it tied with wire ties? Definitely not factory I'm thinking.
Also in the very bottom of the pic are 2 blue shielded cables - looks like RCAs to me - is that your stereo or something you don't know about either?

I'm guessing an aftermarket stereo was removed somewhat quickly and the bundle of wires and RCA cabls are what's left.

Where do the wires go? Looked like there's more of the same under the gear selector.

My stereo has the headunit which is just a face + controls while the 'brain' is in the boot - that means I've got a similar bundle of wires that run all the way to the back. Could that be what this is?

I put those RCA's in there myself.
I was originally thinking those cables might be for a 6CD stacker?
Because my VR-X also has cig lighter cables for the verada type middle section.

Those 3 white plugs, i bent them vertically like that,
Wow so those colourful cables with the plug may be aftermarket..
I wonder where they go :(

Looks a bit like the bundle of cooured wiring is tapping power from the "phone kit connection" - the small square-ish 4-pin plug which is behind the ashtray lamp bulb in the pic. So, def a home-made addition!

Could have been a bluetooth car kit (cos that's where I havew mine mounted and powered from).

AS for gear-knob removal, looks like you have leather shifter knob? There have been older posts in the forum about removing the knob - try search "gear knob remove" etc. There are two methods that knob is secured...... some have a small star screw facing towards the front of the car, the others are secured by a nut under the "shifter-release" button.

You need two very fine probes or small straight screwdrivers etc to remove the button from the top of the shifter
- insert down the sides of the button (about 3 oclock and 9 oclock positions)......
- disengage two springy plastic tabs (which are on the button) from little ledges on the inner sides of the selector/knob handle.........
- the button should pop up slightly, or you may have to try to lift it up using the probes/screwdrivers

There will be a thin piece of whitish plastic poking up the centre of the chrome rod - do not break this plastic - it is what disengages the selector locking mechanism.

Hopefully there will be a nut securing the knob to top of chrome rod staring you in the face!!

Search might find better instruction or DIY with possibly pics explaining what to do.

a lot of in car phone kits have that 4 pin plug with yellow, red, black and blue wires, mine did, that white connector with the 3 blue crimp terminals in it is provided for just that, it has constant power, accessories power, ground and a mute wire which goes to the stereo, mine had a phone kit in the car as well....that exited stage left very quickly
