been reading up on the forums here decided to register, got my 1st gen 2 months back for a song and my ideas of magnas (1st gens) have been wrong, I have a 89/90? TP EFI & the factory GT options on it according to the owners manual and go F*&^ me i keep telling myself its a magna arnt they ment to be sluggish and handle like a bathtub? mine gets up and moves in 1 2 and 3d but bows out to a cruse in 4th and 5th, feels rather firm on the road and has minimal body roll the machanic said that it didnt have stock springs/shocks under it when i was having the rwc done so no complaints here

Props to this fourm saved me the mistake as to fitting a pod filter as it screws up the fule map rite? whats the filter i need for my TP EFI? oval type? just want to get it breathing a lil better to begin with if i dont go the filter i was looking and making a better CAI than the factory pipe that runs round the battery anyone had any experiance with that?

Last but not least i got the dreaded F*&%*&% fule guage problem that alot of us have here 3/4 = full or sometimes it just dont work at all, this happened this morning but was fine when i gave it a boot full the guage started working (if you call it that) i read the thread here about it all anyone have a positive result?

Cheers Pete

Standard white but it looks neat, the woman that owned it seemed to take care of it apart from the odd run in with the trolly :) all work under the bonnet was done by a machanic in the same town here, im down in sunny gippsland vic, only snaps i have of it are the ones i befor i purchased it i forgot to get the digi cam from work tonight doh!

Whats it cost me so far well .. for the rwc i have to have the front disks machined, and one headlight globe was bung so from the old magna forums i read that the Navra Plus 50 H4's were a good buy and it was money well spent going to do the drivers next also as im that pleased with them, had to strip back and repaint the rear spoiler as the paint was cracked an flaking not needed for the rwc but im fussy like that, new muffler and and indercator lense so for < $700 i have a neat rwc car inc purchase price.

My TP seems to have all the 1st gen classic features like noisey timing chain on start up, 3/4 = full fuel guage :) but like other 1st gen owners in a sick way its grown on me, plans for it well the phillips tape deck went the way of the dodo last weekend and in its place is a cd player looking at adding a pod (anyone know what type i need?) and some custon CAI and thanks the the fanitics on the forums here im toying with the idea of finding the skirts im missing and u guys got me thinking of the digi dash also depending on the price and the wright up.

Cheers Pete

Hey man, if your car is anything like mine is IT a GT, they got their own pinstripes (woopde****indoo right?) and the gold rims, only 1000 made so i tell every person i meet , not many people know it was a very limited ed. but anyway, you cant fit a POD, it screws with the air sensor, take off your air filter bell and you'll notice your cleaner is oval, behind that is the MAF, the little grid thing, some say honeycomb but eh, anyway, the oval filter produces a tumbling effect upon the air, and if you fit another shape filter is changes that effect and your engine runs like **** cause it doesnt know what its doing cause it cant get the reading properly, so you need to get a K&N oval replacement, im not sure on the price yet, ive had my car over 6 months and im still yet to buy one haha. anyway! thats what you need to do, the MAF cant just be thrown out and you chuck in your CAI either, it needs to be there cause thats where the air part of the cpu's air/fuel ratio comes from, capiche? (send me a pm if you wanna know how to do it right)

Another word, before you go doing anything, consult your insurance company cause im with suncorp and the wankers rate CAI up there with anything from adding forced induction, performance cam, larger injectors, aftermarket cpu, anything done to the engine and if i do any of that im void, so if i have a prang and they see that i'll be ruined.. but one day im gonna ring around and find someone whos a bit cooler and will let me do a CAI and cam and the rest of it. oh yeh if your over 25 it doesnt matter, you can ****in retrofit your car into a 4x4 or dragster and they dont care, bastards..

I dont have the guage problem and the 'right way' for cai is simpley copying the way a dude did it on his second gen.. basically you just need to extend the wires on the MAF and then you can get some tubing and rubber elbows and **** to connect back to the engine, i really cbf'd finding the 2nd gen thread but you seem like a smart guy so you should get what im on about anyway.
