the 6x9's in the rear of my tj sedan have gone to that place that all oem speakers eventually go (the bin lol) and so the wife wants to buy me some new speakers for my barfday.

the budget is <=$200

now way i see it is ive got two options:

1- fit a new set of 6x9's
2- fit a new set of ~6" coaxials
3- put the pioneer TS-g1643R's that i currently have in the front to the rear and fit a set of splits up front (butchering my oem tweeters to fit the new tweeters).. or better ~6" coaxials

speakers i've shortlisted:

splits:
spl dynamics sd-6.2 ($149)
fli integrator comp 6 ($129)
edge ed306 ($120)
kicker - 07ds600.2 ($198)
cadence xs6k ($169)

coaxial 6":
spl dynamics td-602 ($125)
vibe slick 60 ($169)
edge ed206 ($60)
kicker 07ds600 ($85)
mb quart nan116 ($129)
cadence xs652 ($79)
spl dynamics hf-6.1 ($180)

6x9":
spl dynamics td-6903 ($149)
edge ed209 ($90)
fli integrator 69 pink ($120)
kicker 07ds6930 ($120)
cadence xs693 ($119)
mb quart fta169 ($189)
rockford fosgate p1694 ($199)

of course i have omitted the usual suspects like pioneer, clarion, sony, etc; but im up for suggestions

what say you?

ps the speakers are running off the deck (60w/ch peak) and i may reinstate the sub when the kids no longer need a pram, or i get round to fittin one in the parcel shelf

i love the sound of rockford fosgate p1694

i think 6x9's is the way to go as u already got the hole for them

i think 6x9s, just to make it easier if u wanna go back to stock and stuff :) personally i'd just keep them not too expensive, maybe some decent eclipse speakers or something, just condidering its not being run from an amp, and getting probably 25W each...

so yeh, if plans for an amp in the future, then something decent, if running from the headunit, go for something good but cheap :)
