My 380 mitsubishi fails to accelerate rearly when i put my foot down, the engine sits at about 4000rpm with no drive untill i lift my foot and then it finds a gear.
I had mitsubishi look at the problem and found a error message in the log, [u1120] loss of comunication between the trans and the engin.
Mistubishi could not replicate the events and left it at that.
Happens about 3 times in 2 months.
Makes it hard to overtake when i dont know if the car will go or have a problem.
help please.

Have you tried disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 5mins to reset the auto ecu?

Whats the car history?

Has it ever been in a crash? (Look for wiring loom damage)

have you mucked around with it? (put in a after market sound system, flshing neons...that sort of crap?)
You may have stuffed something, they cannot diagnose it if things aren't stock...particularly if a plug has been loosened, damaged etc...
have you or a previous owner thrashed it?

I find its usually always something the driver has done.

The car is a 07 and i think its the original battery, no problems starting on a cold morning 4deg with ice on the windscreen.

As for the previous owner it was a rental car so probably had a bit of a hard life, lol.

But in saying that the car is in very good condition inside and out,has 65K on the clock,no repairs or mods at all.

I have 4 years of mitusu warranty left so if i have a fail im covered.

Think ill have the trans service soon and see if that helps.
