Hi guys

ive just pulled the auto off my DOHC and cant seem to workout how to remove the torque converter. Normally they are botled to the flywheel but in this case, the TC is flush mounted to the flywheel and there is only a 3-5mm gap between the flywheel and the back of the engine.

Would it be likley there is a cir-clip inside the dog gear of the TC?

Ive tried pulling it off with my hands (shut your filthy mouths) and next i was goign to try leavering with a large bar i have. I am not re-using this gear so damage isnt an issue, as i have manual converion pieces waiting.

Thanks in advance gentle gents

Under the engine where the two bottom gearbox bolts are there is a small inspection plate undo the 2 10mm bolts and you will the inner side of the fly wheel. turn the engine around until u see a bolt either 12mm from memory undo them and it will come off :)

hey mate, all is well. The weather has been terrible lately so i cant move the car back into the garage to put the motor back in. Just remember to put the flex plate from the mnaual back on before the manual flywheel.... i forgot and had to re-remove the clutch and flywheel. I also forgot to use some loctite so at lease it gave ma an excuse to take it off and put some in.

THe hard part if getting the clutch line up correct. THere is a tool to use for it though to make it easier. Clutch allingment tool.
