Okay guys - a lot of threads on this site talk about mufflers and Lukey vs Redback.
A few of you went for the Lukey (and someopne once put up a recording of the Lukey) so I thought I'd go for the Redback.
I took photos before the change and after and also recorded the exhaust before and after (hope I can get these onto the site - if not maybe one of you can help :bowrofl: ).
This work was done in March - I let the Muffler be "broken-in" before recording it.
Before = stock exhaust, cat. and muffler.
After = 2.5" Cat. Back exhaust (not mandrel bent), Redback flo-through 'sports' Muffler and the all important Stainless Steel Tip.
Price = approx. $350.
Bigger pictures (including a couple of dodgey under-car ones) can be sent to you if you want them - just PM or email me.
I am very happy with the sound - but then I like louder exhausts. (mind you, I wouldn't do it to the family car - shouting back 3 rows of seats is hard enough already!)
Pity about the damn TowBar Bar
I once followed a Magna with a Towbar which did not have this bar going over the exhaust - anyone with one of these towbars or know if there are different towbars to be bought ?

Okay, I failed to get the sound recordings on  - can anyone help me - either let me know how to or can I email them to someone who can get them on ?
Otherwise - If you want to hear the before and after exhaust sounds, email or PM me and I'll send them to you (just let me know your email address).
Sorry guys - I failed

I also notice from the pictures that you got yourself a new tyre ;)
Looks good though, its a nice tip... my TR had a towbar (before I ferociously removed it  ) and it never had a bar like yours ...

Yeah, four new tyres - Pirelli P6000's - been happy with them so far.
I'll have to investigate this tow bar - might go to a local TB-fitter tomorrow.
Sound recordings coming soon (I think - if my second attempt at sending them to killbilly works).

Very different, I had some videos with sound, I'll see if I can just record the sound from them and post them up :)
Can you tell me where yo get all this stuff from, it sounds beautiful. If I do get a magna, i might get those removable tow bars.

If you have them in AVI or MPG format - you can try the following tool from the web - I've used it before - it works well and it's free!
River Past Audio Converter - http://www.riverpast.com/en/download/
Look forward to hearing yours.

Just go to your local exhaust shop - Carline will sell you a Lukey muffler, others will vary. I got mine from a local Ballarat place that sold Redback mufflers - they were very friendly and did a great job (IMO).

Cheers mate :)
One thing I noticed when I had the SOHC the lukey had this tinny sound at high revs, but with the DOHC it doesnt do that at all.
I thought it was a characteristic of the muffler itself, but I've spent 2800 bucks to prove that wrong :bowrofl:

I'm interested in getting the exhaust done but do not wish it to make it louder, have the an uneven burble or the poppoing sound.
Puck, the "after sound" is cool but you're right - not for a family car.
Killbilly is the sound I want but, obviously, I'm not about to switch my engine for a DOHC.
Any suggestions? Do I get extractors with a 2" or 2.5" diameter & keep the stock muffler or are there other options?
