Hi all, I have 4 cylinder TR.
I have brought this car for my daughter's first car. Is a SE Gold in colour looks good, nice interior roof needs paint.
I have done some reading about Engine mounts and vibration.
One question that I want to ask is,,, which mount would cause the most vibrations, if that makes sense.
The reason that I ask this is that I have replaced the front mount which I noticed first.
The passenger side mount looks shagged too. The other mounts look ok.
Would the passenger mount be the main cause in causing vibrations??
I have a friend at work who shit can the TR magnas,, and said he had one years ago and replaced all mounts and it didn't make a cracker of difference to the vibration.
After I replaced the front mount there was no difference in the amount of vibration,,, and I don't want to go and spend more money & EFFORT for the vibes to be the same.

to be honest, nothing you do will completely kill that vibration the mounts MAY lessen it but it really doesnt affect the running of the car, mine when the engine is working (currently a little dissassembled as i let my bro drive and the chain running the balance shafts and oil pump broke :( ) still runs 500+ kms to a tank which is not bad for a now 16 year old auto snd gen. honestly id put up with it... isnt your first car supposed to be a learning experience so you appreciate your first good car :D. i think kids that have mum and dad buy them a brand new yaris/i30/jazz miss out on this...

My 4cyl idles a bit rough in gear, especially with the air con on as well, but at higher revs when its in N or P its a fair bit smoother.

Personal I look at this way you have a message seat where ever you go lol I have been told that the replacement engine mount are a little harder than the orignal but meh (told by mechnaic). You get use to it and miss it when you drive another car lol Hell it goes away when driving at higher rpm, it only happens when you stop and idle I find :)
