Hey guys,
Ive just bought woodgrain from the wreckers, but i am having troubles with installing it.
I am having difficulty with removing the ash tray where the drawer slides in and out.
I am using a good amount of force pulling it being scared to break something...
Can anyone provide me with any tips...
I just want to get to the 4 screws to remove the console surrounds!!
any help appreciated
thanks guys

I will assume you have removed the gear lever surround piece? if yes, then there should be no reason why it won't come out.
do you mean the ashtray itself or the entire ashtray housing?

The whole astray surround only has clips and you need to use force.

As stated above, Ashtray suround only has clips - so a firm pull towards the rear of the car is what you need BUT this ashtray panel base sits behind the "lower console panel" (gearshift surround).
Search in here for a Sticky Thread or a DIY called "Console Removal" or "Audio Replacement" - there is an excellent thread with annotated pics showing you exactly what you need to do. For the love of magna's do not attempt to remove the centre vents without reading the correct way to do it!!

As said above, make sure you take out the parts surrounding your gear stick first, only then can you remove the ash tray.
If the lower part has already been removed, then you'll just need to use more force - make sure you're pulling it out straight, and wiggle it around a bit. They can be very stubborn to get out!
