Are alternators interchangable between all the Astron EFI motors? I have a TP that isn't charging.

yup interchangeable
the only difference where tm (carby) but you can fit them with a spacer but there only 65amp i think so your better off finding an efi one

these alternators are easy as piss to rebuild. could be as simple as brushes or dirty slip rings. ive got a few vids on youtube if ou want the links. they explain how to diagnose shorted windings diodes as well if you or anyone else is interested.

I got an alternator from the wreckers for a tp, completely different. mine has a two pin plug on the regulator, the on from the wreckers had a single pin plug on the body of the alternator itself. I pulled mine apart a bit, the brushes are pretty worn, so I'm going to see if I can get some replacements from repco.

ive just gone through the factory manuals and noticed the only ones to have one pins where the TM (low 65amp) all tps had 2pins, id be taking it back and get a proper TN/TP one
