did the tail lights come with a cert or an ingravement saying that are approved? most of the time, they arent. Plus, tint is illegal on tail lights and headlights. If you do it aftermarket, it says on the cans in HUGE writing "FOR OFF ROAD USE ONLY"

i think you're thinking of the TL/TW VR-X taillights. they're slightly darker than standard TL/TW tails

i have them. cops once pulled me over for having blue lights on the rego plate. they didn't mention the tinted tail lights.

The factory ones for the TL/TW/KL/KW are only tinted on the outer regions and not the actual lense sections. See my sig.

i've had cops pull me over for daytime licence and rbt and not mention my tinted tail lights.

Or how inexperienced they are. A friend got a new Focus XR5 T with black number plates with white writing. Got pulled over during the day time by pommie sounding cops who said that they could not read it from a distance of 20m. They checked back to base and still do not think it is legal (eventhough the car was bought with the plates from the dealer). They said that they'll conduct further checks and will get back to him if they find it is illegal.

Yeah they where Adr approved and i had the box they came with and the cop said they wernt, he had a list whith all the makes and models that are aloud aftermarket tail lights and the only mitsubishi he had on the list was a lancer

if you have proof that they are ADR approved, you cant be defected for it. simple as that

i've got the inted tail lights from ebay been pulled over many of times with no issue at all. my understanding is that as long as you can see the refelectors they are legal. looking at mine the backing of the light is black and the outer lens is slightly smoked

Saw a white VT wagon with gold-on-black numberplate, couldnt read it from right behind it let alone 20m

Does that mean you need your eyes checked. I've seen many white on black number plated cars and could see them as easily as any other colour combination plates.

Ive seen gold on black plates before quite a bit, it almost looked like he had tinted the whole numberplate and rubbed it with steel wool or something, the lettering was dark and the whole plate looked like it had a matte finish.
