It started with "i'll clean the roof lining" ended up the sunroof casette sitting on the floor getting worked on as it had been playing up in recent months.
anyway, works better then ever now thanks to me BUT when it is closing, it is supposed to tilt upwards a bit and sit flush with the roof. as it is now, the front of the sunroof is sitting a tad higher then the roof and the rear of the glass sitting WAY lower. I've played with all the adjustment points possible but nothing seems to make it work.
Factory fitted sunroof into the diamante this is for aswell. same as in KS touring wagon's.
I didn't see anything in the workshop manual?

Hhmm that sounds like a dozey Paul. Was the angle of the glass like that when in 'home' position before it was removed?

Yo. I just retrimmed my head lining and had the same problem.
When it came time to fitting the window back in I loosely done up all the the bolts that hold the window to the arms and set the window to the closed position. Do them up tight enough so the window stays where it is but just loose enough so you can move it around. The window was out at first but I pushed from either the inside or the outside till the window was flush with the roof. I done one side then the other. It's easier to do with a second person help holding the window in it's place while you tighten up the bolts.
My sunroof is an aftermarket one, but the principle should be the same.

There is a large instruction on sunroof adjustment in the 3rd gen Tech manual. As the sunroof should be similar (its factory) I would imagine the instructions should be the same. It was very easy to adjust my sunroof around. They do get slightly out every 5 years or so.

Well, since i got the car it was hit and miss, sometimes would get into the "home" position no worries, other times not enough (this would always happen when it rains :@) but now, glides SO SMOOTH and always goes into the same position. Found a heap of things wrong and gave the moving parts a good clean and re-lube. first time in 20 years it's been done!

Hmm....i did try that....but upon giving it some more though i think i know where I screwed up. I disconnected the motor and manually brought the glass forward and then installed the motor. I dont think i set it 100% in its home position though.
Looks like tomorrow I'll be disconnecting the motor again, putting it in its home position then re-attach the motor.
I have learnt as a backyard mechanic thing now, if I work on something I've never worked on before, having to do it a 2nd time is not uncommon.
Ah well - here's to a working sunroof in time for summer - oh yeah

Nooo! Never move the motor manually.. Adjust the glass when everything is in the home position. You were on the right track.. <3

manually?! Nah nah, I will disconnect motor, as it's obviously hit the "home" switch (mucked around with it to see how it worked out of the roof) move the glass, and then reinsert the motor, as looking back it seems it thinks its "home" when i don't think on my part I've actually put it where it's supposed to be. Ah well.
Checked the manual, same as the legnum/galant manual, sweet fa
