lol. Well something you'll never do again i gather now. Check the fuses on the amp as mentioned. there should be a big one in your engine bay aswell going to the amps.

sometimes looking at a fuse it will look fine, but it will actually be screwed, if possible get a multimetre and check for resistance, there should be none! if it shows resistance the fuse is bugged, also check fuses in engine bay/drivers door box

I can guarantee if he shorted the + mains from the battery the fuse will be blown to kingdom come lol

And or the amps :( Check fuses, make sure amps turns on. If fuse are blown and you replace them and the amp seem to be on. Amp maybe stuff due to the short :(

thanks all for your comment and advise, il look closer at it tomorow as i panicked after it happened and it was getting dark and i wanted to share my pain with someone lol, ive worked out what ive done, i got 2 amps in the boot, one is for the subs by the look of things and the other amp in question has my 6 by 9 rear speakers on it plus other connection which runs to a black box under the driver seat which den has connection to the HU and so on, anyway the Ground cable wire touched the 12v cable wire as i drobbed it and produced the sparking ive got 2 sunvisor, 2 headrest dvd screens and are all connected to this box under the seat and they stil work just no sound, il post tomorow of how i went checking all that was mentioned in all your post, nite nite for now my fellow forum buddies.oh the amp light doesnt seem to be on when i turn on system

U were right TUFFTR had a look under the bonnet dis morning and the big ass fuse on the red power cable has fried, wil pop a new one in disarvo and i hope that was the only damage ive done, i wont be lazy in the future as i like to play and get to know things il disconnect negative on battery everytime as lesson learned thanks all for your time, very much appreciated.

just keep in mind that every time you disconnect your battery, youll reset your ecu, meaning youll have an hour of 2 of stalling every time you stop at an intersection until the ecu relearns a proper idle.

Tis a right pain in the ass.

Next time don't disconnect your battery, just remove that big fuse. ECU will still be powered up, but your amps etc will be safe to play with.
