normally i park my car on the street near my train station, and two days ago I found a note on my windscreenfrom one of the people live on the street saying that they annoyed with my car because the alarm goes off every now and then.

i didn't believe it initially until i went to KFC and lock my car and the alarm actually goes off. it's very random because after i turn it off and on again and patiently waiting, it didn't goes off again. i did check the doors, they all are properly shut. And yesterday i got the same post it note from different people

what could causing this? the last thing that i did to my car is changing the head lamp.

could anyone guide me to disable the horn? i don't want to get another post it note. the second one was a red one

Red post it notes are not a good sign,

It's probably one of your four door sensor buttons, the bootlid sensor or the bonnet sensor. You can take them out, pull back the rubber boot on the button and spray electrical contact cleaner or WD40 or similar down the shaft and push the button to get the stuff down in there and that may cause it to behave a bit better, or you can just buy new switches.

In the mean time I suppose you could just unplug your horns and then just the lights will flash (which won't wake up the neighbours) but it will probably be the door sensor switches.

I'd locate the horn (usually separate to the car horns) and either cut the cable (if there is one) or shove a piece of rag up the throat of the horn to muffle it. Then I'd check the work done on the headlight - an intermittent short will cause a voltage drop which duplicates opening a door and sets the alarm off. Sometimes they are so sensitive that water will carry enough current to create a miniscule voltage drop and trigger the alarm.

i might found the culprit, my bonnet is not properly closed. i noticed that the driver seat side of the bonet has a bit gap while the other side is flushed :(
