has anyone endeavoured to have dual exhaust mounted on their magnas? is it hard or expensive? does it sound good/bad?

This was a topic about 3-6 months ago I think. Do you mean a muffler both sides of the car, splitting the pipe near the back axle, or do you mean each of the exhaust headers having it's own pipe all the way to the back?

I have seen some (one?) dual muffler'ed Magna's on here, but not sure if it was a full dual system.

OK, I did some searching for you. Here's the threads which I came up with, some have great pics too.

there's plenty of cars on here that have a twin muffler setup, however i don't think there is one that has a twin pipe setup from the cat- this is because there isn't really any room for two pipes going down the car

I'm no expert, but I doubt twin muffler set up on a stock or lightly modified Magna is going to do anything for the car but looks.

i never implied that it would give you gains, if anything you might get more drone (if it's in an auto).. then again, it might flow more easily if it gets high flow mufflers than a standard magna one.. don't go by what i just said though, coz i haven't gone the twin muffler setup- should talk to dean or jase about it

I've done the dual setup on my tj vrx one pipe on either side had to cut and shape a buldge cost nothing did it my self. I personally like the sound of my setup doesn't drone which is a plus any way I've got pace maker extractors to a high flow cat to a splitter just after the fuel tank to glass packed mufflers, gives off a nice bark. I paid a little shy if $1000 that wasnt including exctractors

Did you do your own glass packed mufflers or are they off the shelf?

Off the shelf can't remember what brand they are, I'll have a look tomorrow

It is purely for looks, you wont gain any performance. If anything you will lose performance because of the extra weight

Yeah i've done both (single and twin system). Currently have a twin system on, don't get much drone because it was put together really well, but it purely is wank factor. You could get the same results if not better with a single setup.

NB just to clarify it was only for interest about looks sake. im well aware of the workings of an engine and the effects exhaust mods have. i know whats good and bad
