Has anyone made or gotten a pipe from the intake and ran a 3inch pipe under the battery as i am currently thinking.
As i got myself a high flow 3 inch K&N Pod ($70 down from $160) as i dont want to leave it near the original box (heat form engine) and i was wondering if anyone had got a pipe to run under the battery behind the bumper to thier TF magna.
thanks

Good idea, problem is the MAF sensor. And the only people i know who have an adaptor kit that works is rpw. (www.rpw.com.au) Mitsiman can help you with that. If you don't use the kit chances are it will run poorly, prehaps worse than before, because it will not run air/fuel ratio's right. That's why i have got the K&N panel at the moment until i prehaps get their cold air induction kit.

Ive never quite understood why u cant put a pod filter on? with some stainless tubing from the pod to the MAF which is the same volume i cant see a problem. The airflow sensor is the honeycomb style which makes the flow of air laminar anyway, i reckon it was one person who did it poorly and warned everyone else off so now they are all scared to do it.
Not that pods increase performance anyway

I am still hopefully going to attach the Pod Air Filter with my attachement so that i can see for myself wether a Pod air filter is Bad or not, if it is it will go onto my dads Ford or get money Back.
Im not looking for a big power gain just cant be bothered to replace the paper one every year or so.
I will inform others if the engine cuts out or runs rich.
Also when you look at the intake for the magna it goes from a oval to a circle , also looked at the cold Air intake on RPW website. What is the problem with the original MAF sensor that it wont work too well ?
thanks

Turbo_Charade: The reason circle ones are said to not work is that they swirl the air, for the honeycomb sensor the air needs to be flowing as straight as possible, swirled air can give false readings.
That being said, I've talked to people who've had round pods on their car with no hassles at all, and I've talked to a few people who've had nothing but troubles.
So I guess all you can do is give it a go, a round pod is cheap as.

Note;
RPW did not invent the adaptor... it came with the filter.. and you can get adaptor kits for the Mitsua MAS through your local autoshop if you choose to use other pods..
As with what KB said, using pods other than the oval ones, I've seen no problems running it on my personal account...

that honeycomb is to make the flow more laminar anyway, the sensor itself is at the rear of that out of view
