Hi I have brought a TR for my daughter for her first car this group has been helpful in fixing bits on it.
Has anyone had problems with the boot leaking???
If so is there something that can be done about it??

check the seals around the windows, the rubber that sits between the water run off area (the chanel between that sits under the outer edges of the boot and water runs down towards the side of the tail lights, its hard to explain at this time of the night) for the rubber to be deteriorated, have cracks and thats where water might leak in. Even the arial hole might be rusted out where the gromet goes and might leak a little bit. Grab a bucket, pore it over the arial hole see if it leaks in, then try a bucket onto the rear window and see if water gets in then.

Look for rust along the base of the rear screen, but its more likely to be leaking in through the tail light opening. If its near the bumper bar you it may be the tail lights. Take the tail lights out you will see a big rubber gasket that may have perished or maybe the nuts holding the light in aren't tight enough. Just a thought.

I had a damp boot in the TR, replaced the taillight gaskets with a bead of silicone and bolted them back in.

Make sure your cables are tied up out of the way as they can make a gap in the lining.

Tim Finn spent 6 months in a leaky boot :p

Is most likely your tail light seals but dont silicone them in FFS, if you need to get them out you are stuffed to begin with plus silicone on metal is very corrosive

Go to Clark Rubber, you can buy a sheet of similar stuff used in the gaskets and then cut yourself up a set
