View Full Version : Idler bearing for A/C- power steering drive.

Hi guys,

I have a noisy Magna, the bearing on the IDLER pulley for the A/C and power steering drive belt is worn out. I've tried to get the bearing from REPCO however they only sell the whole pulley assembly for $1000.
The bearing itself is adapted to allow the holding bolt to be fixed to the center of it, if i could get this off it would reveal the bearing. Anyone know where i can get the bearing with the adapted bit?

What car? I bought one idler for $65 and a bearing for the other idler for $10 from a bearing place for a second gen V6. Worth ringing around, I think.

Its for a 2.4lt 4 cyl 1997 exec.

Can you photograph the thing?

That makes a big difference being the 2.4 ! rockauto.com might have them, but you need to hunt around for a US/Canadian model that had that Mitsu engine.

Eclipse 2.4L 2351cc L4 FI (G) [4G64] SOHC listed at $56.

This one is for 2001 MITSUBISHI GALANT 2.4L 2351cc L4 FI (G) [4G64] SOHC : Belt Drive : Idler Pulley - looks the same as the Magna V6 one. $35

If you want to take some of the guesswork out then contact the dealer and quote the VIN, get price and OEM part number and search.
EPO 12 OEM part number AW337086 is a V BELT, not a flat pulley as you have pictured and suits the TR/TS Astron motors..

Out of the Nu-line catalogue, this might be similar. Note it gives you some dimensions which you could compare. MD362028.
