I have tried searching through AMC using SKR and steve knight but the results are pretty much inconclusive. So I have decided to post a thread to ask for the information I am seeking for.
I have found their website through google as http://members.optusnet.com.au/~steveknightrace/website2/index.htm. Is this correct?
I am thinking of sending him an ECU to tune for my car (380 heads & injectors, full exhaust mod and 98RON fuel). As I have an AWD, do I need to send him an AWD ECU or will any FWD ECU do the trick?
How much does he charge for the tune?
Pardon me for the noob questions!

have a look in the 3rd gen Dyno thread, i'm sure there were a few dyno printouts with his contact details. He has his mobile number on there give him a call to work out the best solution.

His company is called Steve Knight Racetech - he is in Lonsdale, SA
He charges $500 for a dyno tune and I think a bit cheaper if you do a mail order flash tune - unfortunately you aren't going to get ultimate gains with a mail order flash tune but it will certainly help - visiting him would be best.
While steve has obviously tuned quite a lot of magnas - ECU Flash now supports magnas from what i figure any open ecu tuner should in theory be able to tune your magna although steve is one of the better known sources.

So any ECU off a magna/verada will do the trick?
If you use FWD ECU, you may get incorrect readings in your trip computer as you would not be able to specify you have an AWD. There may be other implications as well. Mal will probably fill you in on it.

Best thing to do is call him. That way you have all the info you need upfront.

I see you've put a WTB thread; rather than risk going O/T there, I'll reply here.
A couple of suggestions:
1) find the part number of the ECU in your car - all the Mitsu ECUs have a part number sticker on them - it at least makes it relatively easy to confirm you have a matching ECU when talking to sellers. My Ellery workshop manual suggests there are slight ECU wiring differences between the TJ and TL/TW series, so being able to distinguish might save some angst.
2) have you confirmed whether SKR can reflash a suitable ECU (see item 3 below) with an AWD ROM image? A comment I came across somewhere on AMC recently left me with the impression that SKR might be able to do this (& having the ECU part number would help). At least some Mitsu ECU reflash data was available at dealerships so it wouldn't surprise me if SKR had access to this with his reflashing setup.
3) if you can find someone with the right cable and software, you could get the ROM image pulled off your car's ECU and flashed onto another suitable ECU. Advantage of this approach is that the immobiliser need not be disabled. A TJ auto ECU should be okay for this; TL/TW auto ECUs should be okay too, though they might use a slightly different flash protocol. Either way, you want to be able to read and write the full 512kB (a manual ECU only has a 256kB ROM, not to mention different connectors). TF/TH and earlier ECUs use a different CPU and the ROM code is incompatible.
