A quick one, but the rear door seals on the KF have pulled away from the body so they're now sort of just hanging there. On inspection the seals don't look to be in bad shape, the only issue is that they've separated from the metal backing that they appear to "clip" in to. I can't imagine any wreckers door seals would be any better since I need to pull the seals off that backing to reach the screws to remove it all anyway.
That said, I can't figure out how to clip these seals back in or even work out how they're supposed to hook in. Surely someone has had this happen in some form and had to reattach or replace their door seals. Any advice?
Done a search for this, found plenty regarding the door seals but mainly found unresolved threads, that and i've just realised i'm about to be late for work so I haven't had the chance to go beyond 10 pages of results or so. lol

Don't you just shove the rubber seal into the metal "channel"?
Start at one end where the seal is still seated OK, then work your way along........ place one edge of the seal against the side of the metal channel, and then kind of "roll" the seal into the channel, so that the other edge of the rubber engages under the lip of the metal on the other side.
I've only had very small sections of the rubber seal come out, and simply poking it back into position without any other fixing has always been successful.
I have a theory that back-seat passengers who grasp the door opening getting in and out (eg: my elderly, portly father), were responsible for the seal becoming unseated in the first place.
Had to re-seat the rear pass seal on parents' car once a few yrs back, and more recently a very small section on my KJ after possibly the world's most inept panel repair shop had a go at my car.

Done this several times.
Clean the rubber with Armorall.
Push it towards the back of the channel first.
Then push the front of the rubber in.

Makes sense, still doesn't appear to want to seat properly when I do so. It's only come off at the corners, so maybe i'll pull the entire seal off and start over which will hopefully make it easier.

I get ya - try to guestimate if there is enough rubber seal to seat properly at that upper corner, it may have shrunk back a bit.
If that's the case, try to give the seal a gentle stretch toward the corner as you go along, reseating the rubber towards the corner.
Hopefully this will gain you a bit more rubber into the corner, and might help have the seal seat properly. Just go gently with it, and maybe work up from rear edge of door opening, as well as working from front to rear along the top of the door opening.

I took the 2-3 little plugs from the very rear out, and did it on a hot day - much easier! :D
