hi all my eclipse xa400 has a Clipping indicator and it ficks on some times on hard bass, its at 350watt wired to dual 12' kickers (comps) 300watt is it tuned wrong or but to powerfull for them?
i was thinking put on a bassy song and turn the lineinput down till it the light dosint come on ?
Amp clipping can blow speakers very quickly.
Hopefully the clipping indicator on a good quality brand name amp means it's holding back and protecting your subs.
You need to turn the signal gain down at the amp and maybe head unit too.
Better to run a clean signal with low power than try and crank the max out of it.
(I had 2x12" Earthquake subs running from 2x40W RMS amplifier and it was good for 134.1dB and plenty of back massages)
wind back your gains till it stops flashing.
