The parts look right for the 3-5L 24 valve engine, the 6G74, might be the right one for a 6G72. A very comprehensive kit. Price is good, very good.
If its the right kit, you need to find out first what size pistons you need, does your block need reboring? How many Km on it?

If you're going a rebuild, maybe get the oversized pistons and bore out the block to suit. I wouldnt get the bearing kit, i'd wait till you pulled your big ends apart to see what colour bearings you run and buy a matching set.

whats the difference in the colors?
just a absolute rough price but how much would a machine shop charge to bore out?
im just weighing up my options

Unless you are going to be building for performance, the far cheaper and better option would be a low mileage second hand 3.5, you will struggle to find a low mileage 3.0 these days.

If you are going to build an engine, I would avoid a cheap "rebuild" kit also, things to think about are what sort of rings come with it, how good are they, are the round (some cheaper rings are not presise in the making of them and will not seal well or will wear quickly due to cheap materials)

What are the bearings like, composition etc etc. Same with gaskets, head gaskets in particular, are they of good quality or are they cheap

I remember at MMX we were standing around loading a Nugget onto a trailer discussing Coil Overs a member brought cheap, and as you get what you pat for these coil overs were stuffed. Engine kits are no different, you pay stuff all, you get rubbish.

If you want a good performance build with the view of forced induction etc there is already plenty of info on the forums as Tza, Ego, Wookee just to name a few have done this already. DONT skimp on parts prices as it will come back to bite you in the backside later on and you will really regret this later

Way to hit a sore spot :(

well im pretty much only building for reliablity so the gasket changes are the only thing i plan on doing for sure. if the compression test im going to do soon returns poor results the rings will be getting changed too and the bore honed. i got aslong as i want to do all this as i have a well running 3.0 sitting i there now till im ready to swap
