Hey all!
Well a few months ago I budgeted a hefty sum of dosh for my sound system. On Friday however, I decided to book a four week holliday to Europe so needless to say, the sound system will have to wait!
In the meantime though, I was thinking of getting a set of nice splits for the front, just to get away from the stock speakers. The subs and amps can wait a while longer.
So, any one have some ideas for a good pair of splits to match up with a JVC KD-S895 HU?
I'm after something with pretty good range, especially in the low end :-)
Any help would be great guys, as my knowledge in this area is litterally zilch!

i'd reccomend anything by focal. i'm using they're 5" Polyglass splits in the front and they're perfect if u plan on getting subs later, very high SQ, if you don't plan on getting subs, go for a 6", as they'll extend lower than the 5", but will also rattle the door a fair bit more

i dont know how much the focals are that asylum has, but im using the top of the range pioneer splits TS-C160R, and i reckon they are flippin awsum! i've also heard that mb quartz splits are very good for their price as well. u really need to go and hear a few to make your own mind up tho. :D
i've brought a pair of phoenix gold splits, but i haven't installed them yet, lol
boston i believe have excellent sound quality, another are morel....but i think morel is expensive

i had a listen to P.G, Morel, Diamond, Alpine, Kicker, Jl and mb quartz -
i have to say the best soudning where the P.G (well i listened to a 1.5G splits) the thing was crossed to 5o Hz. and man youhave never heard so much clean bass coming from a 6.5"
Diamond are very good for a budget consious person. can do incredible things keeping the wallet safe. Alpine - just ****
Kicker too Metallic - rock style
Jl - too smooth- a girly type of splits
Mb- quartz- amazing yet nothing to get me hard. :)
Morel-over-rated, and aimed at people with ears that are beyond normal.
Being french, i dont thing Focal will do an aweful job. i've never heard them so i can't tell. but i would say they would be on par with something like diamond (m6)or even Phoenix Gold (the Titanium Series)
