Hi
I need to buy valve stem seals, cam shaft seals and a rocket cover for my Magna, but they are asking me for the "engine type"? Not sure what they mean as I have given them the Vin number, and also the Engine number. Does anyone know how i find out the engine type for my particular car?
Thanks
Craig

Thanks Perry, i thought i would be able to find the engine type udner the bonnet, on the compliance plate, but it was not there. So i managed to get that vin number, and engine number

Perry is correct, of course, but they might just be asking whether it is carby or fuel injected. For the items you mentioned, it won't make any difference but parts are often categorised that way.

Thanks Coldamus. When I recently had the oil rings replaced, the then mechanic told me that he had trouble getting the right rings. The dealer apparently supplied the wrong rings on 2 occasions and finally after the third time, he got the right ones. Unless he was giving me the run around, i just took his word for it that there was indeed several different variations of parts for the same vehicle. This is what led me to come to this forum. I would like to seek help from others about my particular car and their own experiences. Thanks both of you.
