hey guys i have para headlights in my tf wagon and on the left side i have noticed water condensation in it so i left in the hot water cupboard over night and the worst of it had gone. but still had water in it. now what iv done is iv pulled the headlights apart (put them in the oven and opened them up) and given the insides a good clean.

now what i want to do is paint the chrome piece thats attached to the lens itself. not the circle part as thats the part that reflects the light out but the other chrome piece thats infront of them.
does that reflect the light iswell?

its a bit hard to see from my little mock up but number 1 is where the bulb comes through and number 2 is the chrome piece around that. number 2 which is the part i want to paint :)

as you can see the the photo the left hand headlight has moisture in it

Where did you get washer from?

Anyhow, OP, just get a piece of cardboard and cut holes to match the circles labelled 1 and attach to one of the headlight. Wait till night and park infront of a wall and turn on the headlight and highbeam (separately) to see if there are any differences in light output. However, since you've already remove the left one, just cover the right one, take a photo and then repeat with the cover off and compare the two photos.

Can't see any pics. Need to upload them to photobucket or some other picture sharing site and then link to them.

Not absolutely sure that I'm following what has been done - but I THINK you have just taken a chrome surrounded parra and painted the surround flat-black?

The chrome surrounds under the lens are extremely rare and sought-after here in Oz.

All the parras ever sold here, as far as I know, either two-piece-glass-lens or one-piece-polycarbonate-lens had flat-black plastic surrounding the reflectors (but under the outer lens).
Anyway, looks like you have done a good job and got an improvement!
