View Full Version : Empty Beeping

A funny thing happened to me today. I don't recall ever reading of this "glitch". I was driving to pick up my son, about 7mins drive from my home, and as I started the engine the seat belt alert went off (as it always does). But after I buckled up, the alert kept going. I looked around carefully and thoroughly (safely, while driving) and saw no lights or any flashing symbols. No limp mode either. Everything was as normal, except for the constant beeping (the seat belt alart stops after 2 minutes but this did not). As I could see no real alert, I kept driving "just in case" a stop and start would leave me dead in the middle of nowhere (and late for my son) but I was confident a stop and start would wipe the bug. And once I got to where I was going, I did that and it went away. When I started again, a few minutes later, it didn't return. So hopefully a harmless glitch. Anyone else seen (or heard) that?

Nope, but did you notice any anomolies with the displayed amount of fuel by any chance?
I think they replace the entire fuel pump assembly during one of the services...and it includes the sender unit.

Yeah I looked over everything. Fuel was okay (just under half). Engine temp okay. No service due (ie that spanner). Nothing new was on the display, and no warning lights - so I figured it was a jammed signal from the seat belt alert which did not cancel. So far it hasn't happened again, so I'm not worried about it, but if it does I'll point it out at my next service.

mine has done that once or twice in the past nearly 2 years of owning this one. I think its something to do with the sensor for the seat belt. I never worried about it as it very rarely does it.
