Would someone please explain how to do an on the fly adjustment of the front window?

Need to adjust mine - at the moment the side of the window closest to the b biller is about 2cm away from the ridge (the bump in between the front and rear windows) and is only just covering the weather shield 'lip'. Mechanic was hesitant to adjust it and I'm just about to put in some dynamat so I thought I'd give it a bash. Ellery's is once again of little use as it refers to things that are not labelled :(

My thought was to:
1) Mark and loosen everything
2) With the door closed position the window
3) Tighten equally
