so i recently got my manual convert on my 5spd tippy and i was wondering if there was anyway to hook up a wiring system to tell me what gear im in, not because im an idiot and dont know what gear im in it would just look cool, i was pretty happy when i got my car back and the reverse light came up when i went into reverse, also is there anyone in south east queensland that could hook my speedo up or am i gonna have to go to a auto elec and spend an arm and a leg to get it done

It is possible, however does require quite a bit of custom work. You will have to set up a series of Reed switches in a H-pattern on the shifter assy and attach a magnet to the shifter rod. This will activate a circuit when the shifter gets close to a reed switch (positioned at 1,2,3,4,5) These circuits can then be used to light up the appropriate light on the cluster.
