Hi,
I made a thread about my door locks not working but I have now realised that a number of my electronic devices in the car do not work either. These are the devices that do not work:
- Door locks (but when I flick the driver door lock back and forth I hear a click sound come from underneath the dash)
-Power windows
-Power antenna
-Electric seat
-Fan for airconditioner
But everything else seems to work perfectly. The top part (the part where all the fuses actually connect) did break in the accident but I swapped this part from the donor car. I did test some of the fuseable links with the test light and most of them seem to light up. Do any of these electronics have anything to do with the computer? Does anyone have any ideas or suggestoions? Thanks in advance

If the damage was that extensive, why wasnt this taken through an insurance company? I recommend that you take your car to an autosparky ASAP, as you dont know if anything else in your car is faulty after the accident.

Yeah, thanks bro. I was thinking an auto electrician could help with these problems. I will have a bit more of a look myself first tho. Although atm it doesn't move cause the steering rack isn't quite connected yet. We'll do that on the wkend. Dad also reckons he doesn't want to take it to an auto electrician untill he has painted the front end the correct colour (it has a blue front atm :P) as he reckons atm they'd think the car is just a piece of s**t. We will most likely have the engine running and the car driveable by the end of this wkend. Do u think it could have been some wires that shorted out at the time of the accident or that because I replaced the top of the fuse box that the fuses and relys aren't connecting properly. Is there supposed to be positive or negative current coming from that big 60A fuse at the bottom of the engine bay fuse box? Because atm I used a test light both ways and it doesn't seem light up. But the big 120A one has a positive current on one side

I think it is safe to assume that any fuse fitted in the car is intended to have current running through it. That 60amp one would cover a fair bit of stuff, I'd imagine.

Do you knoiw about the Mitsi Workshop Manuals available as PDF files? Search forums for "Workshop Manual Thread" - the files are not hosted on this site, but the thread has links (hope they still work for you).

just finish the car off, get it driveable again. check all fuses.
then sort out the electrics, one problem at a time. may even come good when your finished putting it back together

If the 120A fuse is blown it will get power to everything you lost :) So you might need to check to see if there any shorts on those circuits.

Ok, I'll have a look at circuits on the 120A fuse. But I think that the 120A fuse is ok but it's the 60A I'm a little bit more worried about. I do have a workshop manual but it's for TE-TJ as the shop didn't have any TL/W ones for sum reason. Would most of the electronics be the same in TE-TJs? Or would I be better of DLing a PDF file of the TL/W one? Thanks in advance

Sparky, thanks so much bro aye. I had a better look at my 120A fuse and it was clean blown. I swapped the one from the donor car. Thanks so much! Now I can use all my electronics again :)!

Good result. The PDF files are well worth getting - they are not "Gregory's" or "Haynes" manuals, but the genuine Mitsubishi Workshop manuals as used by dealer Service Depts.

There is a version covering TH.TJ.TL.TW - do get it....... it tends to come in handy lots of times!

Thanks man. Well one of my high beams and parker lights weren't working b4 either but I checked one of the high beam 10A fuses under the bonnet and it was blown. Now everything works :). We run the engine today and it all runs well. Just gotta add some coolant to the radiator, get the steering wheel properly straight and adjust the tie rods a bit on the steering rack. Atm it's raining here so was can't spray the front end so atm it's still blue. I sorta feel a bit sad that the donor car we used will never drive on the road again. Cause it was quite a good car too. But now it's in bits. Oh well at least I get a car again :D. I will update you all on the progress of the car in this thread. Thanks for all your help again btw guys. Sparky, I reckon you deserve to be in my special thanks on my profile cause if it wasn't for you, nothing would work in my car.
