Hey guys sorry to bother uz again but I have just been wondering, how does the idicator flick off when you turn the steering wheel work? Does it work with a central reference point on the steering wheel or on the steering shaft as when we put my steering rack back on whe accidently turned it and the steering is way off centre. So we are going to take the steering wheel off, position the wheels straight and put the wheel back on but I have been worried about how the idicator system works. Thanks in advance :).

I'm going to say it going to be alright if you relocate the steering wheel to a new postion (but one of the member will correct me if wrong or right :)). When you take off the steering wheel you wheel see how it all works. Also here the link for the workshop manual, while I'm in your thread.

A couple of pins at the back of the steering wheel flick the indicators off. Once the wheel is straight all will be fine.

If its the first time you are taking the steering wheel off, be careful - hitting yourself in the mouth with it and breaking teeth can be expensive. Undo the big nut, but don't remove completely. Thump the back of the wheel upwards with both hands. If it doesn't come loose you need a puller.

Follow the link to Workshop manual, and read/follow directions about air-bag deactivating and removal, or search in here for old threads.

You will need a Torx bit to undo the bolts that hold the airbag/horn pad onto the wheel. Forget the exact size req'd (t30 rings a bell), but its in the old "how to" thread.

Be very careful to fully engage the connector on back of airbag when you reassemble the wheel - I failed this step when adding a Ralliart steering wheel, and had the SRS light in dash for weeks until I picked what was wrong (once the connection was properly made, the SRS ECU reset and dash light went back to normal behaviour).

One other tip, if possible get the steering wheel off the spline by loosening nut (following the advice above - loosen the nut but don't completely remove it). If you don't have a puller and bashing the wheel from behind isn't doing it for you - try starting the car. I read this in these forums, can't understand why it works, but I pulled and bashed and carried on, then in last-resort started the car and almost instantly the wheel came free of the spline. Oner reason not to do this it that you will be introducing and error code to the SRS ECU (as you have started the car with airbag disconnected). You MUST have previously disconnected the battery when removing the air-bag pad, but if the wheel won't budge reconnect to start the car and idle briefly. Disconnect the battery again prior to refitting the airbag.
