A curly question? in my Manual TP efi I have a curious problem. If I drive for any distance, but anything from 0 to 3 hours the car suddenly loses power. The engine still runs and idles but will not generate(?) any power. If I manually manipulate the throttle linkage the car will rev up and then go back to idle on full throttle. I have check the following: ECU connections, cleaned and reset. All plug leads are new. the rotor and cap look fine. the coil looks ok. all under bonnet electrical connections have been disconnected, cleaned and reset. Fuel pump has been removed, filter cleaned, (no dirt anyway) and reconnected.

The symptoms replicate a stuck needle and seat if it was a carby(!).

Then if I let it idle for about 10 minutes, I can get back on the road and drive away. This may happen several times at the most extreme time i.e. 2 -3 hours of constant speed driving or a cold start and about ten minutes into a drive and does it once only:headbange

Any ideas what else to look for?

Thanks

Collapsed cat/exhaust system?

Clean out the throttle body, check intake system for air leaks.

Do a compression check for crook valves, possibly lifters that pump up and lock up, killing compression.

Thanks for the advice, I'll start looking at these items now.
