I wanted to spray the instrument panel from the cruddy black looking panel to a chrome/shinney silver looking panel....

Was wondering what type of paint should be used??

And what are the steps in removing the dash and stuff :) in a 99 Sports

Any help will be appreicated..

excellent timing, i started mine 2day, its bloody simple to do, theres 2 screws at the top of the surround, and then it just pulls forward, theres 2 clips at the bottom that pull out, then theres only 4 screws holding the cluster to the car, then only 2 screws holding the clear plastic over that! it takes basically no time at all!

whenever painting, always use a primer, you'll get a much nicer finish in the end, and i always use a fine grain sandpaper between coats to make sure it's all nice and smooth, other than that, if u follow the instructions on the can u can't go wrong!

Like, what grade should I get to achieve a super smooth finish?

But is that with the dash being all in one peice like it is at the moment, or do i have to remove bits and pieces to get to it, i dont exactly wanna rip it all to shreds, and not be able to put it back to geather again..., heh

And in the TH Sports around the Geatsrick they have what looks like to be a chromed plate sorta thing, if you dont understand what i mean i will take a picture tomorrow and show ya's, but i would like to replicate it with the surround of the cluster...

I believe that silver surround will fit any 3rd Generation (ie. TE-TJ).
