Ok i have a 2005 KW verada

I want a set of headers and a hiflow cat.

RPW price $1250-$1300 fitted

Is this reasonable??

What else can i go for? I dont want crap, only good stuff, will the paccies i always see on ebay that suit TE - TJ do the job?? they are $515 plus around $200 for a cat, there's $715 in parts then to get a exhaust shop to fit it all up - $600 odd bucks??? thats alot of labour

Im just not sure on what to do and im abit concerned about the quality of RPW now :(

Can anyone recommend a good setup?

cheers

Forget eBay, I've found it can actually be more expensive. I got quoted from a local exhaust shop, pacemakers, high flow cat and new cat back exhaust and muffler for $1300 installed with parts.

Not sure about other brands, but the pacemakers made a huge difference, best performance mod done so far for me.

I had RPW Extractors on my TJ and was very unhappy with them. I was in the same line of thought as you. It was Paccies or RPW and i went with RPW as i got them off his Supplier for cheaper then he quoted and regretted it in the end. Ive heard nothing but good things about Pace Maker and if i had my time over i would get the Paccies.

believe labour to fit pacemakers were between 2 hours and 2 and a half hours from memory. Assuming cost of labour is about $70/hr the cost of fitting shouldn't be any more than 3 hours which will include the cat. I had my pacemakers fitted 2 and a half years ago for about $580 ($440 for parts and $140 for labour). Alot of places will supply the parts + profit + labour... what this guy did was supplied parts + labour

I had my headers fitted, yep its about 3 hours worth of labour, should be about $170 max, installing a cat maybe extra 30min tops!

TL/W have a slightly different position for the Cat however as the Pacemaker do not have an engine pipe that goes right back these will be fine

Remember, RPW extractors are actually other brands with the ID removed so you may as well save your cash and go to the source of the product or get them yourself from EBay or similar and get them fitted

HM headers plus 200CPSI burkley metal cat all fitted = $700.00. Fitting of the header was like 1 hour, including the time taken to burn the coating in. Cat was more effort as have to weld flanges on but also took 1 hour.

cheers fellas, I'm gonna go with Cannington Performance in the end, Pacemaker Headers, and 2.5inch Hi flow metal Cat all supplied and fitted for $1140, $150 cheaper than the "competitor" and he could actually give me a EXACT cost, whereas the "other fella" couldnt give me an exact price :(

I feel kinda bad now though :(

Are RPW headers not the same as hurricane headers? similar anyway?

if jasonvrx and norby's cars both have similar engine build specs and both running pacemakers... and both putting out about 190kwatw... the question is.. why the hell would you try anything else...

Had no trouble at all with the RPW extractors I fitted about a year ago. Freed up the top end a heap, & no buzzing issues. Don't know how they compare to the Pacemakers, but I'm happy with them.
