2003 TJII.
Just put car in for the RWC. Significant rear subframe cracks from the rear sway bar bracket areas onto the main part of the subframe.
My mechanic thinks that a new crossmember will be around $750 plus removal and fitting.
Looks like a bit of sympathetic welding and reinforcement will be required !!

Also found that the Whiteline bar has been smashing into the exhaust pipe just before the muffler and the front of the spare wheel well.

Anyone else come across this??

I've got a TL rear end and just had a look and all is good.

Was yours in a prang?

Yes...check out Robertaka's "busted rear end" thread. Checked mine again.....no probs, have been running a heavier bar for the last 15k....car has done 73k....hasn't been fouling, moving about either.

This has been common on both the FWD as well as the AWD with whiteline bars, know of at least 4 other cars with the same issue

The bracket is NOT designed for the heavy bar and the Whiteline has issues on many cars both front and rear of hitting on parts, some have gone to great lengths to have this rectified and some have just given up and gone back to standard

I am wrecking a 2003 sports here at the moment with the std bar if you are in need of a subframe

I've had mine on the hardest setting for the past 60,000kms & no issues yet. (must check again soon, though!)

Must have been a bad batch of whiteline bars? Although I see both of you have had the hoseclamp and bush locking kit in place too. I'm wondering if this has added to the issue at all?
