I though I would start a thread with pics on the recent warranty items I have claimed. Some are obvious but some are not. I had to involve my Dealership's Service Manager to get some items through.

B pillars sticky tape marks - confirmed factory defect

Headlights - Had to get service manager to approve my right one because it had smudge marks on outside.
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/6147/pb220018.th.jpg (http://img15.imageshack.us/i/pb220018.jpg/)

Seat control broken - Dealer ordered new controls but also new padding to rebuild seat!
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/6489/pb220020.th.jpg (http://img253.imageshack.us/i/pb220020.jpg/)

Airbag cover raised up - new dash ordered
http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/1215/pb220022.th.jpg (http://img703.imageshack.us/i/pb220022.jpg/)

Other items include;

Emission control valve - ticking noise in engine bay - not lifters
Lights around the auto gear box (twice)
Heater/Aircon blower fan noisey (twice)
Rear electric window just fell down one day - Fixed on the spot at the dealer same day no appointment
Rear window seal had minor holes in it
top roof seals that go front to back - sun damaged and warped near the boot

I think thats it :)

My B pillars look exactly the same. I polished most of mine out. I thiught it was just how they were.

Those B pillar marks are nothing like I was thinking, I don't have marks like that at all. What you have is def a defect.

Instead I have an 'unpolished' looking strip at the top of each B pillar, which I'm guessing is standard and not a defect.

Will post up pics later.

Ooh, thanks for posting. My car has a few of these issues, like the headlights look crap and the dash is a bit off around the airbag... Will try and scam a few more things out of it too when I go to the dealer next.

the seat control on mine "was" broken

but it actually just needs to be put on correctly as I foun there are some clips that it would not clip into until I forced it to

Now it never moves

Agree... my airbag cover on the dash isnt dead flush but I would reckon they would never replace it like the factory install so I will live with it. However I notice my drivers front airbag plastic cover is a bit loose but as I am officicially out of warranty this month so be it.

I've managed to eliminate or at least reduce lots of dash & trim squeaks and rattles by carefully removing the trim item and packing it out with foam padding. Or fiddling with a mechanism or two. All four door panels, both A pillar panels, both B pillar panels, glove box lid, glove box lock, steering wheel top panel, handbrake lever just to name a few. But no way would I try to remove the whole dash to get at the last one or two elusive rattles.

The rattles would be annoying but its still under warranty for another year so the rattles will be their problem not mine. My car rattles and squeaks all over anyways so not really that fussed

Sorry to hear about all that Fantaysia.

My car has completed 139 000km with one warranty claim - driver's side window.

No paint problem with the B pillars. No rattles from the dash or the rest of the car at all - 0 (Disciple can confirm).

Oil use is negligible; changes are every 15 000km - I have topped up once when it was under half.

Car has been highway cruising most of its life.

Might be a series one thing & all was fixed by series two??
Mines just gone 4 years old & no trouble what so ever. Even with the coilovers I still have no rattles :)

Compared to the complaints I read about on GM and Ford forums we really have very little to complain about.

Since most on this forum bought their cars second hand..Mechanically the 380 seems to be amongst the best in the industry....in all areas.

I think yours had 126,000kms on it when I drove it. I was very surprised there were no rattles in it. Rattles are my pet hate, and my Magna with 130,000kms had a few, but your 380 had none that I could hear. Pretty well screwed together car, IMO.

I just checked my B pillars in the full sunlight and I CAN make out a very faint mask line at the top of the black area before it goes to silver. A bit amateur I've got to say. it's not noticeable to do anything about but I can see it would be a problem for some colours.

Just attacked my marks (which were very noticable) with some NuFinish polish and plenty of elbow grease, hey presto gone!
Wish I had done this years ago.

My best claim is a new steering column, had a horn that kept going off, after new a clock spring and some other mucking I eventually got a new column, been all good since.

Well I got my car back from warranty work ...

Ticking noise gone - emission control valve?
new dash fitted (steering wheel back on not straight, few rattles and minor scratches around the radio)
Seat padding rebuilt - now the seat tilt has a bit of play
Tape masking marks removed - B pillars painted (grain of sand in paint on drivers side, the paint shop did something to my rear passenger quarter window and replaced the tint badly with different colour tint - Paceway say they will fix this and that the paint shop wouldnt never own up to it)
Heater/Aircon blower fan fixed
Headlights replaced - they sit a bit higher now and dont match the bonnet
rubber strips on roof replaced - looks like they pulled some off another car as they have all popped back up now
My interior is dirtier than ever after they had it for 2 weeks

So everything they touched they stuffed more and now its going back to get fixed again lol. I had a similar experience with Hyundai but they replaced the dash in our Getz with no issue or rattles ... maybe Hyundai techs are better trained.....

Overall i'm not angry just want the things fixed. I work in service for an electronics company and we make silly mistakes also. Its how well you fix them that counts. I rang Paceway and they said straight away when would you like to bring the car in. They also gave me a loan car for the 2 weeks at no charge. They also changed front and rear pads and skimmed the front discs all for $360 which I thought was good for a dealer.

I look forward to getting the car fixed up as my warranty runs out in July this year.
