Took old roof linning out cleaned it up. Had a quote for $165 to recover it in light brown/Tan.
Had a friend who said he knows an old friend who has a trim shop and will do the job for $100.
Geee how I wish I paid the $165. First was way wrong colour. I left a sunviser for them to match a CLOSE colour. But I suppose if you work there BLUE is close enough.
After I complained they offered to go over the top of the blue in better colour. After leaving it there for a week and a half I thought *************** this don't worry about it I just put it down as a loss and go and pick it up,, and get someone else to finish it off. When I went there they said wait a little longer it will get done so I did 3 days later They hardly ever answer the phone I have a friend who has a truck to pick it up when I get it home what a shit job.
At the back edge of the liner it is supposed to be folded over the edge as the back edge has nothing that covers it. Mine is just hacked flush with the edge of the liner; parts of it are coming unstuck etc.
The general job itself is crap creases bumps lumps.
I'm seriously thinking of just binning it and going to upull it pay $22 get another liner and pay $165 to get job do PROPERLY.
Piece of shit.

I like how you wrote, HAD a friend. I would of had him go there and demand better work. I know how you feel though. On my other ride, i had a tonneau cover fitted by pro's and they totally stuffed the whole job. I cant describe how much they stuffed it.

I agree.

Shouldn't have paid until you had a chance to check the workmanship. lol That's important in any trim job, payment on completion and inspection by customer. Tell them that up front.

Dead easy as a DIY job, cheap (about $50), quick (2 hours tops). And you get to choose the material that goes up! Done about 4 so far. No failures noted to date either, as far as I know.

Search is your friend. Do it yourself, go on, you know you want to.

OLD SAYING: If you want a job done, do it yourself.
The opposite is: If you want a job stuffed up, get someone who doesn't care about your car to do it. In his defense, the trim job was probably the first effort on something like this for the 15 year old apprentice/work experience kid. And without seeing the car, how is he to know which edges can be trimmed flush and which need to be wrapped over and glued down?
