As the title says, the clutch in my sports slips when it gets car get to operating temp. When's its cold and you give it a bit in 3rd or 4th it's fine( it gets up and pulls real hard). after about an 1hr of driving that's when I notice it, went to overtake a car and the clutch slipped like crazy, if you apply really light throttle it's fine. Would the system need to be bleed or is it something else, the fluid is full as well.

Does your pedal have free play? What kind of clutch and how old (ie. 230mm standard, 230mm hd, 240mm std/hd?)

If you do not have any free play, adjust the free play bolt on the clutch pedal assy (Take a look under and you will see it)

A problem in the clutch hydralics will prevent you from disengaging the clutch, it will not cause it to slip - so bleeding should not make a difference here.

There is also a possibility that your engine is putting out more torque then the clutch can handle, though I haven't heard of this on a 6.5psi pulley yet.

Mine was slipping at one point with the 230mm-hd due to no free play in the pedal, however was only under load.

As above. If your clutch has high Km on it and the freeplay is ok, it is probably worn out. It will just get worse as time goes by, when it slips all the time you know its time for a new one.

The old fashioned way to test the clutch is to put the car in second while it stands still, then try a fast take off and see if it gives a solid take off without slipping excessively. Bit rough on the clutch though. lol

its a execdy HD clutch, about 3000ks old, havent really given it a hard time either. There is a bit of free play. Its a 240mm one

Have you driven for long since you had it installed? As in, more than an hour at a time? I bought my car with a 500km old clutch in it that hadn't been adjusted properly, didn't notice anything until driving for over an hour. Mechanic spent 10 minutes with a spanner and problem was solved.

Not sure if your situation is the same but it sounds similar.

New clutch shouldn't be doing that.

Check for free play when the whole thing is hot and the clutch is slipping. There is a pressure release port in the master cylinder that bleeds residual pressure out of the hydraulics when the clutch is up. If this port is blocked because there is insufficient freeplay at the pedal, pressure accumulates every time you use the clutch, ending up with no free play at all and a slipping clutch. Seen this before with a new clutch.

I would be tempted to increase the pedal free play a bit, and see how it goes. The pushrod should put no pressure on the piston in the cylinder at all with the clutch up, can be checked under the dash. You should be able to move it back and forth along the normal direction of its working stroke a couple of mm by hand.

When you had it installed, did they step the flywheel? as the 240mm is not a direct bolt into a 3.5 Magna

Hey Perry, the adjustment rod behind the pedal needs adjusting. I had the complete opposite when I replace mine, I couldn't disengage so that I could get it in to gear, I adjusted it too far and had the complete opposite (the exact same of what you now have)

It's not fully engaging, I find that the clutch point comes up a bit higher on mine aswell when it heats up. Adjusting the pedal free play back a bit might fix it aswell though.

Make it shorter.
